What Is The White Rose Witan Shrine?

The White Rose Witan Shrine is an organization that was developed with the intent of uniting the larger Mid-West Pagan community. We strive to create a place for people of a like mind to congregate and share services & ideas.

We also do train members and have active monthly Study Groups learning about practical applications of various occult/wiccan/witchery practices. Currently, it is possible to be trained and recognized up to the Second Degree in the Correllian Tradition through us. In addition to this we have a Clergy mentorship program available to those that choose to join the White Rose Shrine. We are a recognized Shrine through the Correllian Tradition as well.

Furthermore, we want to be able to provide an outlet for those who wish to make a larger impact to the local community in a positive manner by providing the opportunity for volunteer work locally, as this will help foster an environment of understanding and tolerance within the local community. (members are not required to do community service but will be provided outlets to do so if they wish)

Hopefully we will all be able to walk our path in Love & Light, while also aiding others to do the same. We are all the Great Spirit's children, and we want to create a place that reflect this.

(We under the charter of the Correllian Tradition but all paths are welcome)

About the name and symbolism...

The Circle:

This is the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. It is also the primal Deity/energy that we all came from.

The Moon:

This represents the womb of the Goddess from which we all came and to which we all shall return.

The Stars:

These are based on the Pleiades, also known as M45 or the Seven Sisters/Seven Brothers, which is able to be observed almost all over the globe. Almost every civilization has a myth or folklore based upon this constellation, and it represents the unity of the world.

The Rose:

The White roses symbolize purity and innocence. It also symbolizes the reverence we have of Deity and recognizing the innate good that we are all capable of providing to and of receiving from others.

The Line:

The Line represents working through the material/physical world for spiritual development, as it is the symbol for the number four; the number four being interpreted here to mean the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water) or the physical world.

The Triangle:

The triangle itself is the union of the Mind, Body, and Spirit in perfect balance. Through this balance we are able to walk along one of many paths to unite with deity.

The Colors & Center:

Through the balance of mind, body, and spirit we are able to walk along one of many paths in order to unite with deity. This is represented by the rainbow lines within the triangle uniting together in the spiritual world represented by the lavender circle and then with Deity represented by the white circle in the center.

What is a Witan Shrine?

Below is an explanation of what a Witan Shrine is as explained by the Correllian Tradition's website(www.correllian.com):

"The most formal Shrines in the Tradition are Witan Shrines!

A Witan Shrine is a Shrine founded in expectation of its later becoming a Proto- Temple:  At this time all new Correllian Temples must spend at least one year as a Witan Shrine prior to being officially chartered as Temples of the Tradition.

A Witan Shrine functions in the same manner as a Shrine, described above, with the difference of its being considered a formal body of the Tradition rather than a private function of the Shrine Keeper, and it’s focused toward developing the functions of a Temple.

The Keeper of a Witan Shrine must be a member of the Third Degree High Priesthood, or a person studying toward Third Degree and under the imperium of a Third Degree sponsor approved by the Council of Elders.

Unlike ordinary and Formal Shrines a Witan Shrine is considered a formal body of the Tradition.  A Witan Shrine Keeper is not regarded as having a seat on the Witan Council, and hence has no vote in the Council, but may attend and participate in the Council on the same basis as Acting Heads of Temples."
